Answer the actual question
Use a descriptive heading and put the direct answer near it. Add the context a reader needs: who the information applies to, what is included, and where the limits are. Specific, helpful explanations are more valuable than repeating keywords.
- Explain terms before relying on jargon.
- Separate facts, examples and opinions.
- Link to reliable supporting sources.
- Keep important information available as readable text.
Use evidence, not visibility promises
Real authorship, original experience and accurate business information can make content easier to assess. Do not add invented reviews, results or credentials to sound authoritative. Structured data should describe what a visitor can actually see.
- Use appropriate page and breadcrumb markup.
- Do not claim that special “AI schema” guarantees inclusion.
- Check that the public content is technically accessible.
- Update claims when the underlying evidence changes.
Measure carefully
Google says its existing search fundamentals also apply to AI features. It does not require special AI files or schema, and inclusion is not guaranteed. When checking other answer engines, record the question, date and answer. A citation, a referral visit and a customer enquiry are different observations.
Common questions
Can AEO guarantee an AI citation?
No. Inclusion and citations are chosen by the system and can change between searches.
Should I replace normal SEO with AEO?
Clear answers build on useful content and sound technical SEO. They do not remove the need for a usable, accessible website.
